Conditions

The 62KM ultra marathon is a gnarly course. This should not be your first ultra-running experience. If you are new to ultra-running, we suggest you take on the shorter course of 33KM - trust us when we say that course is still epic!

You must be fit and well when you undertake any of the Resilience courses. We will have medical assistance on site, but you must be starting the race in good condition.

We understand that injuries happen, and we will happily change your distance if needed. Please do not undertake these courses if you are not 100% sure you are ready for them. The last thing we want is to be sending in the helicopter to pick you up. A heli ride is cool, but not if you have a medical team around you!

Your safety is our focus and if our medics or staff make the determination that you are not fit to start or continue the course, we will remove you. It this situation occurs, it is not without thorough consideration, it is the duty of the Resilience team to have you home safe at the end of the race. No race is worth putting yourself or others in danger. Please follow the directions of the marshals and medics at all times.

You must be over the age of 18 to take part in the 62km race. Persons aged between 18- 16 are allowed to participate in the 33km race, but they must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the race. Under 16's can take part in the 10km race, but they must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the race. For the 10km race, persons over the age of 16 do not need an accompanying adult. Please note, all participants under the age of 18 must have a parent of legal guardian sign an additional waiver at race registration.

Supporters

Supporters are welcome at the event, in fact, we encourage you to bring your entourage.

The main race village will have food and drinks available to purchase.

Supporters are actively encouraged, but no pacers or external support is allowed for participants on the course. Any assistance will result in the participant being disqualified from the event.

There is no parking or participant drop-off at the race village. All attendees will need to board the Resilience Run shuttle bus to get to the race village from the car park and drop-off point.

Once parked, all participants and supporters will need to board the shuttle bus to the race village. The bus will depart from outside the Reefton Trotting Club. The journey takes approximately 10 minutes.

Return buses, from the race village back to Reefton Racecourse, will begin at 1pm. Return buses will run at thirty-minute intervals returning to the racecourse (please check out timings for individual races as per below).

Prizegiving

Prizegiving will be held on Sunday 8 August 2021 at 9.00am at the Reefton Cinema, Shiel Road, Reefton. This will be approximately 30 minutes long. After Prizegiving we encourage participants to stay, wander around and sample the local wares. At 11am, we will have a special screening of ‘Whispers of Gold’. On the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island, lie the ghosts of Waiuta, one of New Zealand's richest gold towns. Whispers of Gold tells Waiuta's story from its beginnings to current day. Archive film and photographs give a rare glimpse of 1900's mining town life - the colourful characters, stories, and the gold that kept its heart beating but left a toxic legacy. This film lasts approximately fifty minutes.
